Global laundry software vs Presso

A laundry POS built for UAE & GCC laundries, not adapted for them

The big global laundry POS systems are mature, well-proven products. Presso is built in the UAE, for the UAE. Here is an honest look at where each fits.

The short version

Good products, different homes

The leading global products have earned their reputation: polished, mature systems used by laundromats and dry cleaners across the US, Europe and beyond, with customer apps, machine integrations and a long feature list. If we ran a laundromat in the US or the UK, we would shortlist one of them.

Presso starts from a different place. It is built by Pandoratech, a UAE software company, for laundries in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the wider GCC — where receipts must carry a TRN, half the counter prefers Arabic and customers live on WhatsApp. Neither product is “better” in the abstract; each is better at home.

An honest split

Which one fits your laundry?

A global platform is a good fit when…

You run laundromats or dry cleaners outside the GCC — especially self-service stores that need card systems and machine integrations — and your staff and customers work comfortably in English. It is a mature global product, and for many markets it remains a solid choice.

Presso fits better when…

Your counter is in the UAE or the wider Gulf: receipts must be FTA tax invoices, your team switches between Arabic and English, customers expect WhatsApp updates and free delivery, and the busiest week of the year is the one before Eid. Presso is built around exactly those days.

What “local” means at your counter

From Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Riyadh and Muscat, the things global software treats as edge cases are the daily routine here. Presso makes them the default:

Questions

Global software vs Presso FAQ

Can I migrate from another laundry POS to Presso?
Yes. Export your customer list and price list from your current system and we import them during onboarding, along with your services catalog, TRN and receipt branding. Historical orders can be imported from spreadsheets or POS exports. Most laundries are live within a week.
Does Presso do everything a global laundry platform does?
Not everything, and we will not pretend otherwise. The established global platforms have served many markets for years and have longer feature lists, especially around self-service laundromats. Presso covers the full daily workflow of a Gulf laundry — intake, stage tracking, pickup and delivery, payments, WhatsApp updates, VAT invoicing — and goes deeper where the GCC needs it.
Is Presso cheaper than global laundry software?
Usually, once you compare like with like. Global products typically bill in US dollars; Presso starts at AED 149 per month per branch plus 5% VAT, with no commission on your orders. Arabic RTL and FTA-compliant invoicing are included, not configured or added on.
